La Cascina Fiorita has been standing on its hill in Grumello del Monte since the 1400s, once belonging to the condottiero Bartolomeo Colleoni and today it looks out over the Franciacorta vineyards instead of the battlefield. Erika and Stefano chose to have their entire wedding right there, ceremony through to the last dance, letting the estate’s own history and setting carry the day without needing to move between locations.

There’s something I always enjoy about a wedding filmed entirely in one place the day builds naturally, without the breaks and travel time that come with splitting ceremony and reception across two venues. Everyone just settles into the rhythm of the place, and it shows in how relaxed the whole thing feels on camera.

For the film itself, Erika had one clear request: the whole thing set to a single song, Queen’s “Was Born to Love You.” No other soundtrack, just that one track carrying the entire story of the day and as with a few other couples, I also handed over the full, unedited footage alongside the finished film.

This wedding also happens to be a bit of a family affair for me Stefano is the brother of Daniele Tobia, whose wedding at Tenuta Acquaviva I filmed not long before this one. Getting called back by the same family for a second wedding is always one of the better compliments this job gives you.
