Tamila & Alessandro — A Timeless Wedding at Castello di Vincigliata, Florence

This one goes back a few years October 8th, 2016, to be exact but it’s stayed one of the films I’m proudest of. Tamila, from Brazil, and Alessandro, born and raised in Ferrara, said their vows at the Church of Ognissanti in the heart of Florence, before moving out to Castello di Vincigliata for the reception: a medieval castle in the hills above Fiesole, rebuilt in neo-gothic style in the 19th century, with views that stretch straight across to the city below.

It’s an older wedding by today’s standards we were still shooting in Full HD back then but I was already working with a drone and a gimbal on this one, which wasn’t nearly as common at the time. Watching it back now, it holds up better than I expected.

Photography was handled by Alessandro & Veronica Roncaglione, a duo I worked alongside on plenty of weddings around that time we knew each other’s rhythm well by then, which always makes for a smoother day on set. On second camera was Andrea Fantoni, who isn’t really active in the wedding industry anymore, but was a key part of making this film happen.
